Who We Are

St Marys Cement Group was established in St Marys, Ontario, in 1912 and is a leading manufacturer of cement and related construction products in Canada and the United States. St Marys operates two cement plants in Ontario, including one in St Marys and one in Bowmanville. We operate more than 40 ready-mix concrete plants and 12 aggregate pits and quarries, with more than 1,700 employees, across the province. Our materials are found in the province's schools, hospitals, roads and highways, public transit, sewers and water mains, treatment plants and power generation stations.

We have stayed in business for more than ninety years because we are a good neighbour. St Marys works closely with residents, local community groups and government to minimize the impact of our operations and to address environmental challenges. We support communities in many different ways: through employment opportunities, through our products themselves and through direct charitable giving. We donate a significant amount each year to non-profit organizations with a focus on the communities in which we operate.

St Marys Cement is one of only a few companies that has implemented an ISO 14000 compliant Environmental Management System (EMS) for all of our Canadian operations.

We recognize that new development has an impact on the community and we are working hard to ensure that our proposed quarry operation is designed and planned to minimize impacts. St Marys is committed to being a good neighbour and working cooperatively with local residents through open communication and consultation.
